Date & Orange Scones
INGREDIENTS
- Butter, 150 grams
- Baking Powder, 4 teaspoons
- Plain flour, 4 cups
- Cinnamon, 2 teaspoons
- Dates, 1 cup
- Apricots, 1 cup
- Salt, pinch
- Orange Juice, 1/2 cup
- Orange zest
- Milk, 1/2 cup
- Sugar, 1/2 cup
- Coffee crystal, 1/4 cups
METHOD
Chop dates and apricots up add milk and orange juice. Sift flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and cinnamon into a bowl, run in melted butter. Add the fruit, juice, zest and milk mix into a well of dry ingredients Place on well floured board and cut into desired shapes. Sprinkle coffee sugar on to of scones, brush w milk. Bake 25-30 mins.
Serve with lashings of butter!
