    Māori Film-Maker to study at Sundance Institute

    A new scholarship to study at the prestigious Sundance Institute has been awarded to an aspiring Māori film-maker. Toiroa Williams, 23, will spend a year at the institute in Los Angeles which was founded by actor Robert Redford to advance the work of those working in film and theatre. Nearly 300 people in NZ applied for the scholarship and Toiroa was one of two successful applicants.

    Applications open for Pacific writer's residency in Hawai'i

    Mid-career or senior New Zealand writers of Pacific heritage are being invited to apply for the 2017 Fulbright-Creative New Zealand Pacific Writer’s Residency at the University of Hawai‘i.  The three-month residency, supported by Fulbright New Zealand and Creative New Zealand, is for a creative writing project exploring Pacific identity, culture or history.
