Elite SAS Trooper says a soldiers duty is to fight
There have been reports out of Iraq of a missile attack on Camp Taji where it is believed 45 New Zealand Troops are stationed. Arab News reported that the rockets hit Wednesday morning (NZ time). Veteran soldier Joe Glen says, "all of New Zealand's troops are trained to cope with hostile conditions and its most important for them to follow protocol at this time."

ANZAC's build giant plastic house in Iraq for Christmas
Task Group Taji, the ANZAC contingent had the strangest Christmas for their Iraqi trainees. Using huge, lego-like plastic bricks, TG Taji built a life-size training whare, to help the Iraqi Security Forces refine their urban warfare skills. CPT Jonty Hooson, TG Taji IX says, "The bigger rewarding thing than that would be, to see everyone using it to upskill their ability in urban operations. "The hardest part in building the Urban Training Facility, which is a bit like lego, is building the floor, but once we got the foundation sorted, building up, was quite a breeze."

Ngāti Tūmatauenga heeds the call of duty at Christmastime
As Aotearoa spends Christmas with their loved ones, 150 New Zealand Defence Force personnel are serving aborad.
