He Waka Kōtuia from Te Waipounamu is a combination of King’s High School and Queen’s High School, and are affiliated to Kāi Tahu, Kāi Te Ruahikihiki and Kāi Te Pahi.

Te Rōpū Raukura is made up of students from Rotorua Boys and Girls High Schools. The kapa haka team was established under the name Raukura in 1994, representing Te Arawa waka.
