Tribute to my Grandfather (Te Orongonui Keelan) who rests in El Alamein and to all the officers and soldiers who have passed while serving in the 28th Maori Battalion.

We are forever grateful for your courage and dedication for the cause.Your families will continue to honour you all mmighty warrioes. May you be forever young , In Jesus name Amen.

Remembering Uncle Te Pehi Parata of Waikanae. Died aged 22 on 13 March 1941. Buried at Durban, South Africa. Member of the 28th Maori Battalion. Nga mihi aroha.

He puna wai aroha e kore e horehoretua i te rā. Nā rātau tātau i ora ai, e kore rawa e warewaretia. ❤️

To my Love Grandfather and best friend Peter NS Smith 4th and 6th RMT

Erana Te Okore Maurirere. Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force (2NZEF). 28 (Maori) Battalion. Kia maumahara tonu tatou ki a ratou. We miss and love you Dad.

Sgt.Thomas Wilfred Rongomai Worrall 26565.. 1918-2004.. served with 28th Maori Battalion in WW2 later in J Force...Loved and respected by whanau and all who knew him .

Papa grandfather Manua Tutara. 28th Pioneer Maori Battalion from Pukapuka and after moving to Waimauku, marrying Te Hira Matua Pairama. Placed on behalf of their only surviving child, son Paenua Tutara soon to be 81years old this July, now recovering from a major operation in hospital. E kore e wareware mātou i ngā wā katoa. We will never forget Papa. In rememberance humble respect for that time of sacrifice Paenua Kiri Tutara

F/Sgt Stuart Richard Bisset RNZAF NZ415738 – Air Bomber. Age 20. Died June 23rd 1943 Mulheim Op. For the uncle, I never got to meet.
