Despite being in state care most of her life and struggling through homelessness, eighteen-year-old Celeste Howell is rising above her circumstances, taking home the Oranga Tamariki Passion Award at this years William Wallace Awards.
Leah (Ngāpuhi, Ngāti Whātua) began her broadcasting career at Kia Ora FM at the age of 16. Driven by her passion for Te Reo Māori and kaupapa Māori she became Awa FM’s Breakfast Show host. An aspiring journalist, Leah has joined our News and Current Affairs team as Assignment Assistant/Reporter.
