The inaugural New Zealand Music Awards was held in 1965, where a young Ray Columbus won Single of The Year with "Till We Kissed".  50 years on, the awards has matured with a plethora of music genres, artists and sounds.

Best Rock Album - Shihad

Best Worship Album - Life Worship (Through The Fire)

Best Male Solo Artist - Marlon Williams

Best Female Solo Artist - Gin Wigmore

Best Māori Album - Ranea Aperahama (Tīhei Mauri Ora)

Best Roots Album - Trinity Roots (Citizen)

International Achievement Award - Savage

International Achievement Award - Lorde
