Pāmutana was established in April 2014 for the Tangata Rau Festival by the organising committee, Rangitāne Cultural Arts Society, to help support the kaupapa, making this their debut to the regional stage.

Tutored by the Chair and Secretary of the RMCA, Pāmutana is made up of friends and family who reside in Palmerston North.

Pāmutana are proud to be a part of this prestige event to help grow, develop and encourage the people in the Rangitāne region to take part in senior kapa haka, as well as providing a safe and comfortable environment for their members and the wider community in the kapa haka realm.

Their leaders today are Moeroa Karatea and Hana Netana-Williams.
