The hunt continues for 33-year-old Joshua Kite who allegedly shot at police last week. He is considered "armed and dangerous".

Kite, who has a Parole Recall Warrant, is said to have crashed a car and shot at police officers in the suburb of Kensington on Friday morning before fleeing in a stolen vehicle.

A search was conducted at a property in Kaiwaka yesterday in the hope of locating Kite but to no avail.

Police say the search is extensive and could extend to areas of Auckland. They are asking anyone who has seen Kite, to contact police immediately.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts should contact their local police station or report anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
