Washed up fish were discovered today on the coastline of Muriwai Beach. The 6km trail of fish is believed to have been dead snapper and gurnard. It is still unconfirmed whether it is a result of recreational or commercial fishing.
The video shows fish displaced along the Muriwai shoreline with the passengers of the vehicle unimpressed by the findings.
LegaSea stated on their Facebook page, “Accidental or not, yet another example of unnecessary wastage.”
LegaSea also commented on their Facebook page that they have informed Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) officials who visited the Muriwai Beach this morning.
