In response to Ruapehu Alpine Lifts' 2016 application to the Department of Conservation to secure a 60-year lease for the Tūroa ski field operation, Ngāti Rangi's RAL working group are leading our comprehensive Iwi consultation process.

Ngāti Rangi has objected to the way the application process has progressed as the Concession Officerʻs Report has not specifically discussed their views on the application.  Ngati Rangi representatives believe the application should not have been approved in principal.

Last year the Government announced a package of initiatives to prevent and manage childhood obesity.  The package aimed to provide interventions for those who are obese, increase support for those at risk of becoming obese and various approaches to making healthier choices easier for all New Zealanders.  One year on since the launch of the Childhood Obesity Plan, Health Minister Jonathan Coleman says good progress is being made.  Read more here.
