  • Network and Systems Engineer

    We are searching for a competent, forward-thinking IT engineer to join our tightly knit Solutions Team. This role looks after the IT infrastructure and systems of our medium-size enterprise-grade environment and participates in technology projects. 

    Here at Māori Television our purpose is to revitalise te reo Māori through television programmes, events, and online media.

    The Solutions team plans, designs and implements technology, and manages IT systems needed to support the company in its functions.

    We work with modern technologies across a broad range of areas including corporate IT, television and media production, and online platforms and apps.

    What will you be doing?

    • Configure and manage networks and firewalls, virtual/physical servers, cloud services, storage, backup and monitoring solutions, and general corporate IT systems.
    • Participate in design and integration of new systems, implement technology solutions.
    • Assess and optimise performance and security of IT systems and networks.
    • Monitor for, troubleshoot, and resolve faults and security incidents.

    We’re looking for someone with:

    • A tertiary qualification in information technology or equivalent experience.
    • 3-5 years’ hands-on engineering experience with computer networks (LAN/VLAN/WAN, VPN) and firewalls (Cisco, Palo Alto); physical and virtual servers (VMWare), and storage infrastructure (SAN and NAS) in an enterprise environment.
    • Familiarity with Windows Server, Linux/Unix operating systems, and Powershell/Shell scripting.
    • Cisco CCNP (preferred) or CCNA certification, or comparable.
    • Extensive experience with Microsoft Active Directory, general corporate IT services (including MS 365), and experience with IaaS and PaaS (Azure Cloud services preferred).
    • In-depth understanding of and experience implementing data and network security best practices.
    • Broadcast or post-production experience (beneficial).

  • Research Panel & Insights Manager

    We are looking for an experienced Research Panel and Insights Manager to manage the overall strategy and implementation of the Māori Television audience panel.  Your expertise in data analytics, research techniques and insight generation will contribute to the data story for Māori Television.

    You will drive research panel acquisition and monitoring to maintain statistically representative and robust panel lists.

    You will have demonstrated experience in analysing, producing and integrating research information from multiple sources, delivering value-added insights and recommended actions to support fast, strategic and sound decision making across the organisation.

    Your open, consultative approach and influencing skills will be valued as you will also manage projects with our partners and assist with the development and use of data across the organisation and provide advice.

    It goes without saying that you have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills as you will need to convey findings and statistics into easily understood insights for all stakeholders. Experience working in a kaupapa Māori based organisation is desirable.

    We are looking for someone with:

    • A relevant Bachelor’s Degree or similar level qualification
    • An understanding of Te Ao Māori and applicable research techniques and presentation.
    • Strong analytic capability
    • Ability to inspire and have credibility to assist in strategic and tactical decision making across the organisation
    • Demonstrated skills in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
    • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
    • Skilled in micro and macros polling techniques from digital to analogue
    • Experienced user of Excel, PowerPoint, Word as well as data analysis software including SPSS. Ariana, google analytics, data visualisation tools, online survey and email platforms.
    • Experienced in data modelling techniques
    • Exposure to Te Ao Māori and acknowledgement that the learning of te reo me ngā tikanga Māori is a requirement of this role

    Māori Television is on the hunt for a Commercial Partnerships Lead to join our newly formed Business Growth & Partnerships team.  We are building a team of passionate, creative, innovative and commercially-minded people to help us forge mutually beneficial partnerships and generate new sources of funding.  The Commercial Partnerships Lead will be responsible for:

    • Delivering on new commercial partnership opportunities.
    • Effectively managing relationships with new and potential partners to deliver on mutually beneficial commercial outcomes.
    • Being the key point of contact and relationship manager.
    • Monitoring and ensuring all work streams are delivered in line with our values of kia tika, kia pono, kia aroha, kia Māori.
    • This is an exciting role that will suit someone with the following skills and experience:
    • Similar experience in a similar role or at least 5 years+ Account Management / Business Development sales experience.
    • Understanding tikanga and te reo Māori.  Previous experience working in a kaupapa Māori organisation in a similar role would be advantageous for this role.
    • Strong partner relationship management skills.
    • Relevant commercial experience negotiating and executing commercial deals. 
    • Strong self-motivation with a desire to drive results.

    • At least 7 years’ experience with Microsoft and Linux operating systems
    • Extensive experience with Microsoft Active Directory, File and Email Services (MS 365 included)
    • In-depth understanding and experience implementing data and network security best practices
    • Broadcast or post-production experience would be beneficial
    • Adept in coaching and training users
    • Familiarity with TOGAF would be an advantage

    We are looking for a Senior Developer to join our growing team of specialists gearing up to and bringing together various systems and solutions, design and build microservices and develop front-end user facing interfaces.

    As the Senior Developer, you will be responsible for technical design, development, testing, implementation, maintenance and support of digital platforms, API, integrations, content delivery endpoints, mobile and web-based applications and other internally built software solutions and tools.

    You will ensure built software meets defined criteria and user experience requirements, create and run tests and automated test suites, relaying outcomes to the team and stakeholders.
