If you are concerned about the content of a television programme broadcast on Māori Television or the Te Reo channel, you are entitled by law to complain and to have your complaint taken seriously. If you have a complaint, you must write to the broadcaster in the first instance, within 20 working days of the programme screening.

The Broadcasting Standards Authority was set up under the Broadcasting Act 1989 to oversee broadcasting standards in New Zealand. Their role is to decide on complaints that broadcasts have breached BSA standards. For more information or to contact the Broadcasting Standards Authority.
Online News and Current Affairs programme Standards
Māori Television is a member of the Online Media Standards Authority (OMSA). The Authority is responsible for upholding a code of standards for all news and current affairs content published online by OMSA members. If you are concerned about news and current affairs material you have seen online you should direct your complaint to the Online Media Standards Authority (OMSA). OMSA complaints must be lodged within 14 days of the content first being posted on the publisher's website.
