Reconnecting Māori whānau from around the country with their ‘other side’ or ancestors from abroad. For more than 200 years migrants from many countries have made their way to Aotearoa, establishing families with local Māori.
Rongomaianiwania Milroy (Niwa) breakfast host for Radio Tainui was raised in a Māori world but had wondered about her “Milroy” side. Tracing that side of her family back to the Isle of Man was both intriguing and dsiquieting. This journey would hopefully answer many questions for the Milroy family in Aotearoa.
