Kahurangi Maxwell comes from a family of poi performers and entertainers through Ngāti Rangiwewehi in Rotorua. Her parents Trevor & Atareta Maxwell led that group for 30 years.
As a performer herself, she has represented her Iwi at the highest competitive level at Te Matatini with Ngā Uri ō Te Whānoa, and represented Aotearoa to the world at various cultural exchanges. Dedicated to Te Reo Māori and education, her contributions to Te Ao Māori are also seen in her mahi as a Marketing Specialist for Te Wānanga ō Aotearoa.
