    Māori Film-Maker to study at Sundance Institute

    A new scholarship to study at the prestigious Sundance Institute has been awarded to an aspiring Māori film-maker. Toiroa Williams, 23, will spend a year at the institute in Los Angeles which was founded by actor Robert Redford to advance the work of those working in film and theatre. Nearly 300 people in NZ applied for the scholarship and Toiroa was one of two successful applicants.

    Police confirm missing woman Marama Greek's body found

    Bay of Plenty Police have confirmed the body a woman found 20kms south of Opotiki last night is that of missing Napier woman, Marama Greeks. The 54-year-old was last seen in Opape around New Year's Eve. A member of the public discovered Greek's body near Torere last night. Police recovered the body this morning. An investigation into the circumstances of Greek's death is ongoing. Police believe her death is not suspicious.
