Hasim Rahman is better known for knocking out Lennox Lewis in 2001 for the IBF heavy weight champion.

Today however, he stepped to another tune by visiting the Rotovegas Boxing Gym inspiring the next generation to taking boxing to the next level.

For most of these up and coming boxers it's the first time that they have met a world champion boxer

For students from Kaingaroa forest School who have been participating in the boxing programme under Rotovegas Boxing for a few years now, today is prize giving.

For owner, Aaron Warren of Rotovegas Boxing, he has spent long hours exposing children to boxing and this calibre of boxing.

Hasim Rahman is better known for his brutality in the ring. However, the main thing today is to get down to earth with the children.

Rahman is in Rotorua tonight and then makes his way to Wellington.  He is here for the super 8 boxing event and will be travelling around New Zealand promoting boxing in towns such as Rotorua.
