A Te Atiawa descendant is preparing for the World University Games in Korea.
He's a former high school athletics champion and is now looking to carve his name at the tertiary level.
Bailey Stewart from Te Atiawa lad is preparing to take on the world. He says, "I am training for the world uni games over in Korea in July and i'm currently training for the 4x400 relay."
The 18-year-old also holds a NZ record, and talent runs in the blood.
Stewart says, "My grandfather is Richard Bolton, he played managed and coached the NZ Māori team for rugby league. He got me into league quite young."
He's also balancing it all with university studies.
Stewart has a lot on his plate but at the end of the month will fly out to Korea to compete at the World University Games.
