Taranaki to host Iron Māori

Taranaki is gearing up for its first Iron Māori event to be held in March or April.

Howie Tamati from Sport Taranaki says the province is buzzing about hosting the popular event.

The limit of 500 participants is expected to be met quickly for the event at Waitara, which includes a 500m swim, a 15km bike ride and a 5km run.

Iron Māori organisers are also planning an event on Australia's Gold Coast in June, and a duathlon in Wellington in September.
