Sky to broadcast World Baseball Classic Qualifying Tournament

World Baseball Classic Inc has announced the broadcast schedule for the World Baseball Classic Qualifying Tournament in Sydney. 

Fans in New Zealand, Australia, The Cook Islands, Fiji, The Marshall Island, Micronesia, Palau, Western Samoa and Tahiti will be able to watch the games live via ESPN Pac-Rim. 

The event involves four countries; Australia, New Zealand, Philippines and South Africa.

The winner of the qualifier will go on to compete in the 2017 World Baseball Classic. The Classic is the fourth installment of the premier international basketball tournament featuring many the world's greatest baseball players. 

Below is the list of matches and times of each game:

Following the Sydney Qualifier, additional Qualifiers will be held in Mexico, Panama and New York.

The New Zealand Baseball team, The Diamond Blacks left for Australia in the weekend.

Earlier in the week, Te Kāea reporter Taroi Black caught up with the team's youngest player, 18-year-old Jason Matthews, before their departure.
