Rising AFL player earns spot alongside Australia's St Kilda team

Joe Baker Thomas has just finished High School and he's already got his future planned out alongside the St Kilda Saints AFL team in Melbourne, Australia. Ten players from the team are in Wellington this week as part of their annual community camp and Joe is one of them.

Joe Baker Thomas has only been playing AFL for less than a year, but could have a big future in the sport.

Joe was picked up after competing at the U18's AFL tournament last year and while he hasn't played the sport for long, he loves it.

The St Kilda Saints are in Wellington all week and Joe will return to Melbourne with them on Friday, but today they revealed their new Māori inspired jersey that they'll wear in their Anzac game held in Wellington.

At just 17 years old, he'll have to get used to a new country as well as a very intense training schedule with the St Kilda Saints.

But Joe knows, you can't get the rewards without hard work.
