A Radio Tainui host will pull on the gloves for a boxing event in support of Women's Refuge and mental health charities.
For two months, the morning host, Patara Berryman, has been training in preparation for the event to be held at the G2 Pub in Tauranga this weekend, and win or lose, the Ngāti Whāwhākia son says it's all for a great cause.
Patara will fight Norm Rahiri, and another of his work colleagues, Matutaera Herangi, will also get into the ring. The event will also feature women's fights.
Patara has been training at Huntly Kickboxing Club.
He also has a support group that will travel over on a 45-seater bus.
Patara is hoping if he does well, he might get his chance to feature in a Fight for Life event.
