The New Zealand Women's Sevens team is preparing for the fourth round of the World Rugby Women's Sevens Series to be held next week in Canada.
They're training in Mt Maunganui this week in preparation for their tournament in Vancouver.
Coach Sean Horan says, “We have four days and then get back together on Sunday and fly out hopefully to a pretty good tournament in Victoria, Vancouver.”
The New Zealand Women's Sevens are feeling the pressure having been winners in the last three world tournaments, but there are concerns for some of the players.
Horan says, “We've got Kayla McAlister who just got a bit of a sore neck injurers, so we will just monitor her for the next 48 hours and make a call. You know the pressure is not on us to pick our top side right now.”
Three of the 15 team players, won't make the team travelling to Canada next week.
“For us as a side, heading to where we want to head, you know there's a bit of pressure on us but we are just focus on ourselves and keep going,” says Horan.
The announcement of the players to make the New Zealand Women's Sevens team will be made tomorrow.
