The NZ Women's Kabaddi team have finished third overall at the Kabaddi World Cup in India. The team suffered at the hands of competition favourites India in the semi-finals, 43-20.

But they came back in their final chance of a top three placing winning by a massive amount to clinch the third spot from Kenya, 42-21.

The third place win sees the side take out a prize package of over $50,000 NZD.  Captain Riripeti Motu says the team will put the prize money towards developing the squad for next year's Kabaddi World Cup.
