Hurricanes player, Otere Black made his first start for the New Zealand U20 side when they took on Ireland in their final pool game in Italy this morning.
Black was one of 12 changes made to the side which showed when the New Zealand side beat their opponent 25-3.
The New Zealand team were the first to be heard on the field. However, it was Ireland that scored the first points of the match.
A penalty kick from over 30m away got Ireland on the scoreboard. But that was all that was seen from the players in green.
A wide pass from Otere Black to Tevita Li got New Zealand in front. That lead was extended by six points with two penalties from Black.
Tevita Li scored his second try of the match when he touched down under the posts.
Another try attempt by New Zealand, but it was disallowed.
The second time, New Zealand made sure to make it count following a strong scrum.
The scores were also boosted by this conversion, to end the match 25-3.
New Zealand will play France in their semi-final on Tuesday.
