Cross Fit athletes took part in this weekend's NZ Cross Fit nationals held in Auckland. Cross Fit gyms from across the country attended the event along with first-timers, Cross Fit Taumata.

At 7am these Cross Fit athletes took charge in the heat of battle.

Cross Fit was a fitness programme introduced to New Zealnad from America in 2000. These are the nationals organised by Auckland-base, Cross Fit HPU.

The group Cross Fit Taumata from a Takanini gym have only been in the game for 2 months.

One of their members is world renowned American Cross Fit Champion, 60-year-old Gary Jones. Jones is aware how intense the heats of these competitions are.

The first place getters were Mount CrossFit 2 in the Open section,

Infinite 1 for Intermediate section, and Masters 4010 took out the Junior's section.
