The loss of rugby legend Jonah Lomu has rendered many lost for words and struggling to come to terms with the sad news.
The 40 year old passed away in Auckland.
New Zealand Rugby CEO, Steve Tew issued a statement saying Lomu was a legend of the game and many, both fans here and across the world were reeling after the sad news.
Tew says, “We’re lost for words and our heartfelt sympathies go out to Jonah Lomu’s family. We’re all shocked and deeply saddened at the sudden death of Jonah Lomu.”
Lomu played 63 test matches for the All Blacks from 1994 through to 2001. He made his mark on the global stage at the 1995 Rugby World Cup when he scored seven tries in four matches including four tries in the semi final against England.
