Our top women squash player Joelle King is in preparation mode to defend her Commonwealth Games gold medal next month while her new doubles partner Amanda Landers-Murphy is heading in to her first games experience.
While preparation differs between the players, the goal is the same.
King of Ngāti Porou says, "it's been a really exciting period I've had 6 weeks so far with my trainer, I haven't missed a session and my body is feeling really good"
An excited Amanda can't wait to finally realise one of her dreams to represent NZ at this pinnacle event.
Landers-Murphy, of Taranaki/Te Ati Awa descent says "It's huge. It's something that I've been working towards for a number of years now so yeah i cant wait"
Joelle was seeded 14th in Dehli four years ago, she will be seeded three in Glasgow next month and she's gunning for the gold.
She also won gold at the last Commonwealth Games with Jacqlyn Hawkes, something Amanda would love to repeat this time round.
"Four years ago Joelle and Jacqui got the gold so it's a bit scary but i hope we can do that again or go close to it"
Whats better than that.
