For many years Rotorua has attracted thousands of rugby league players and their supporters over Labour Weekend.

As always the tournament kicked off with the battle of the haka. The battle continued on the field to see who the best team was.

Tāmaki Makaurau is last year's winners of the Rohe title at this competition and showed that they have the goods again.

Whanoa is the opposite of Tāmaki Makaurau, a team of friends and relations, they decided to enter this week and had only trained together once before playing in the tournament.

Games will continue tomorrow morning before the finals in the afternoon.
