Lisa Carrington (Te Aitanga a Māhaki, Ngāti Porou) and her performance at the Rio Olympics will go down in history after becoming the first Māori woman competing for New Zealand to win two medals at one games.
Carrington took out the Bronze medal in the K1 500 race and also won the Gold in the K1 200 race with a finishing time of 39.864 seconds.
The talented sportswoman also won gold at the 2012 Olympics which has seen Carrington rise to the same ranks as Valerie Adams and Barbara Kendall.
The New Zealand sailors have also come out on top with Pete Burling and Blair Tuke taking out the Gold medal for the mens 49ER.
Jo Aleh and Polly Powrie secured a Silver medal in sailing in the womens 470.
In Shot Put, Tom Walsh and Jacko Gill have qualified for the final.
