Judo expert Patti Grogan heads to Commonwealth Games

It was an 18-month plan but all the hard work and sacrifices have paid off for Patti Grogan after she was named in the NZ judo team heading to the Commonwealth Games next month.

Patti is 24 years old, and is counting down to the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow this year, and the chance to compete in the 52kg section for NZ.

Patti grew up in Gisborne and was introduced to Judo, competing until she was 18. She put her Judo ambitions on hold for a few years though during university, but has been completely focused the last 18 months on it.

Hopefully she'll feel just as confident in Glasgow.
