Hundreds gathered to welcome Jerry Collins back to his old rugby club in Porirua.
A special ceremony is currently taking place at the Norths Rugby Club where the former All Black learnt his trade.
Flanked by his rugby mates, Jerry finally arrived home and it was the local people of Ngāti Toa who had the special task of welcoming him back to the rugby grounds.
How appropriate for the rugby community here in Wellington to acknowledge him with the famous haka by Te Rauparaha.
Even though it's only club members and family who are in the club house at the moment, the club has welcomed the wider public to come and pay their respects to Jerry tonight at the stadium.
This Wednesday, Collins will be farewelled one last time at the Te Rauparaha Stadium in Porirua.
