The Chiefs have started off the 2016 Super Rugby season with a win after beating the Crusaders last night 27 – 21 in Christchurch.
Despite both teams scoring one try each before halftime, it was the Crusaders who took the lead with 2 penalty kicks to the visitors' one.
However, it was the Chiefs who scored the first try in the second half, thanks to Seta Tamanivalu, however, there wasn’t much time to celebrate, as the Crusaders responded swiftly, David Havili crossed the line for the South Island side.
A penalty goal saw the Crusaders creep in front by 3 points, to lead by 6.
However, Ngāti Tūwharetoa descendant Damien McKenzie broke free to score a individual try to take the lead, Sam Cane sealed the game for the Chiefs with the last try of the match.
