The organisers of the Wellington Sevens have introduced several changes for next year's event to try and boost its popularity, after the inclusion of the Auckland Nines.

The 2015 tournament will start earlier each day, at midday and opposed to 1pm, with the last game on Friday night an hour earlier at 9pm.

There will be free water, increased food options and no Waitangi Day surcharges.

Ticket prices were slashed last month, with latest reports that around 13,500 have been sold.
