Former All Black Carlos Spencer has said he is open to making a return to the Blues, after announcing his move to Japan as Assistant Coach at the Munakata Sanix Blues.
The 40 year-old recently spoke to Te Kāea about his ambitions to work with his former team, “Maybe one day. I'd like to get back to the Blues and help them out if ever the opportunity was available.”
“Sometimes it’s frustrating when I watch them back then, and I still got the passion for the Blues' jersey,” said Spencer.
The Blues haven't had a Super Rugby season victory since 2003 when Spencer was last at the helm. Since its inception 20 years ago, the Auckland side has dropped to its lowest ranking ever, 14th.
“I still got a lot of passion for the Blues you know. I do wish them to do well every year.”
Carlos played for the Auckland Blues in the inaugural year of the Super Rugby, helping them to three premierships. The first five eighth from Ngāti Kahungunu last played for the Blues in 2005.
