This morning, the 2018 Tainui Waka Cultural Trust Kapa Haka Festival kicked off at Claudelands Event Centre in Hamilton. Over 500 performers from a total of 17 groups will take the regional stage today.

Born and raised in South Auckland, Tepara has been a part of Māori Television’s newsroom for over a decade now. Educated at the former Ngā Tapuwae College, she returned to Te Kura Māori o Ngā Tapuwae as a Kaiako Rūmaki Reo after gaining her Bachelor of Education in 1999 from the University of Auckland.
As Associate Digital Producer, Tepara is part of the team encouraging Māori Television viewers to stay connected wherever they are in the world. Tepara loves the interactive nature of social media and the ability it gives viewers the chance to get in touch with Māori Television when important events happen in their community.
