A long-held community dream for a music and arts centre for young people in Glen Innes and surrounding suburbs has moved a step closer to becoming a reality, with the dawn blessing for the new building carried out this morning.

Our reporter Numia Ponika Rangi  was among the 200 or so early risers from all sections of the community young and old who were there to witness the unveilling and spiritual cleansing of "Te Oro", clearing the way for it's official opening on May the 9th.

The new building has performance spaces, music rooms, digital editing suites and a dance studio, as well as office space, and the youth are really enthusiastic to get in there and start utilising the facilities to enhance their natural talents, whatever they may be.
