John Junior has never left the North Island, yet he hopes to perform at the World Champs of Performing Arts in LA.

John Junior Hohepa (AKA Junior) is going to exhaustive efforts to fundraise the $7,000 needed to get him to the World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA) in Long Beach, CA, even if it means busking on the street from now until then.

This afternoon talented singer, who first qualified to represent NZ in 2012, but never had the money to go, will begin a 7 day busk-a-thon at the Ōtara Music Company carpark.

He has busked at the Ōtara Markets for the last 25 years and he believes that his drive and passion for music is the reason it’s kept him out of trouble.
