Te Matatini 2015 - Waihīrere

Formally established in 1952, Waihīrere has competed in the national arena since the inaugural Polynesian Festival in 1972, and has competed at all 20 festivals since then.

Throughout those generations, Waihīrere have been fortunate to win the nationals five times, and are proud to stand again at Te Matatini 2015.

The aim of the rōpū is to maintain the integrity of the kapa haka legacy of their tīpuna with the same love, joy and passion for music and kapa haka excellence as has been exemplified in the past.

"To strive to be the best in all that we do always; for us and for our children after us."
