Tainui based rōpū, Te Maurea Whiritoi was formed in 2009. Their mission statement is "Mā te kapa kaha tō tātau mana Māori e kawe ki anamata. He whare whakaruruhau te whare tapere mō ngā taiohi, kia whāia ngā tikanga me te reo o ō tātau tipuna."
The design on their kākahu depicts the rōpū's desire to follow in the footsteps of their ancestors.
Leading the group this year is kaitātaki tāne Lucas Baker and kaitātaki wahine Jaedyn Randell.
Tutors include te whānau o Te Maurea Whiritoi.
This year they have chosen to share with us their waiata tira, Nau mai e Raukawa.
