Tairāwhiti Tamararo Regionals 2016 - Te Aho a Maui

Led by kaitātaki tane Kahurangi Matene and kaitātaki wahine Ashlee Maka, Te Aho a Maui also known as Te Whatukura are the 9th team to perform at the Tamararo competition at the Gisborne Events Centre today.

Most of the team standing today are first time performers and are tutored by Sue-Ellen Sadier, Kahurangi Matene and Ashlee Maka.

Under the theme of kinship “Ngā taina me ngā tuakana”, Te Aho a Maui are dedicated to upholding te reo Māori me ona tikanga.

Their Whakatwātea (exit item) titled “Ngā Manu Kopara” is composed by Maria Wynyard and is the item the group has chosen to share today.
