Hokianga returns to the Maranga Mai E Te Iwi regional stage for the second time, following their strong performance at Te Matatini 2013.
The kapa was born in 2011 out of the dreams and aspirations of the collective families of Hokianga.
During preparations for their debut at Te Matatini last year, group members had made some definite life changes, whether it be quitting the cigarettes, alcohol, or even their jobs!
Today they take the stage with a heavy heart, as the Hokianga whānau mourn the loss of one of their brothers, Chase Wijohn.
Their leaders today are Nore Martin from Mitimiti and Paane Thomas from Panguru.
Here is their thrilling poi that excited the crowd today.
