Participants choose whether to complete a 100m course of burpees or a whole 500m.
According to participant Tukiterangi Curtis, “It's a strengthening exercise we can do daily, while giving to the people.”
The charity event is also an opportunity for the participants to donate non-perishable goods and presents to the Salvation Army.
Other fitness groups from around Rotorua and the Bay of Plenty also came in support.
Last year there were only 70 participants. This year there were over 100.
Organisers say it's a clear sign that more people are taking their health and well-being more seriously and a challenge like this is a great goal to achieve.
