Raggamuffin search for hot new reggae and urban acts

Raggamuffin is the largest reggae and urban music festival in the Southern Hemisphere and now the search is on for New Zealand’s hottest new reggae and urban acts!

Raggamuffin is looking for two bands (one reggae and one urban) to perform at the festival alongside huge artists such as UB40, The Game, Macy Gray, Eddie Grant and Sly and Robbie, just to name a few.

Heats will be held across the country to select the opening acts. Entrants can perform at heats held in Porirua, Masterton, Hastings, Palmersotn North and Auckland.

Auditions will run from Friday 13 to Friday 27 November, with the finals to be held in Porirua on Saturday 12 December. 

The selected acts will not only get the great opportunity to perform on the same stage as these renowned artist, but will also share $5000 in prize money.

Raggamuffin spokesman Brotha D (Danny Leaoasavaii) says, "We know there's great young talent out there and we want to nurture that talent."
