Police are searching for convicted child sex offender Daniel Livingstone after he breached an extended supervision order following his release from prison last year.
In 2006, Livingstone was convicted of abducting and raping a 10-year-old girl in Whangarei.
According to a statement, he had been residing in Upper Hutt, and Corrections staff contacted police alerting them that the tamper alarm on Livingstone’s monitoring bracelet had been activated.
Police gained entry to the address he was residing at and found the ankle bracelet.
They now hold grave concerns for both the potential risk Mr Livingstone poses to the community and possibly to himself.
Police have asked the public to notify them immediately with any sightings of the individual and not to approach.
