Police investigating the death of Alex Fisher in Waitarere have charged a man with burglary.

Police issued a statement regarding the arrest and say he is also facing a charge of possession of a knife.

They say they are still working to establish any links between that burglary and the death of Alex Fisher.

The man who currently has interim name suppression, is due to appear in the Levin District Court later this afternoon.

Detective Senior Sergeant Neil Forlong says the Operation Waitarere homicide investigation is continuing:

“On Sunday we announced that we were looking at a burglary which took place at a property in Waitarere.  We are working to establish any links between that burglary and the death of Alex Fisher.

“The investigation team remains very focussed on the enquiry and we continue to assess a range of information and forensic evidence.” said Mr Forlong.
