Police would like to thank the public for their help in identifying a woman whose body was discovered at Ōkahu Bay yesterday.
Auckland Police were notified of the body at 10am after a member of the public discovered the body floating in the water and waded out to bring it in.
Police appealed to the public for information leading to the woman's identity, who they described as a woman of "South Asian descent" with "shoulder length hair".
Overnight information came to light and Police will notify her family today.
The 53-year-old woman on Indian descent lived in Mt Roskill.
While enquiries continue today, her death is not being treated as suspicious.
