Holding the Auckland region, Ngā Manu Kōrero Speech competition in North-West Tāmaki is new for many.
Pearl Snowden says, “It's new for us to have this competition here in the North-West but it's going really well.”
“In previous years, we wanted to hold a competition in the North-West region and the other half in the South,” Ms Snowden also added.
Working together through competition was the example that Auckland host schools, Te Wharekura o Hoani Waititi, Hato Petera, Western Springs, Massey High School and Auckland Girls Grammar wanted to set for their students.
The competition also celebrates a new milestone as it reaches 50 years of existence.
