He hails from Whanganui and his work has made it all the way to Te Āporo Nui, 'The Big Apple'.  Ngāti Hinekura artist, Johnson Witehira, is world famous in New York, showing off his unique brand of Māori designs in mid-town Manhattan's Times Square.

While it's tempting to think of an achievement of this nature as the pinnacle of his career, it’s just the beginning as far as Johnson is concerned.

Renee Kahukura Iosefa turns the spotlight on the emerging artist, who's on a quest to make this world just a little more Māori with his artistic designs inspired by traditional themes.
