Ikaroa-Rāwhiti Poll - Important Issues

Contesting Ikaroa-Rāwhiti are sitting MP Labour Party's Meka Whaitiri, Te Hamua Nikora from the MANA Movement, Marama Fox from the Māori Party, and Henare Kani for the Greens.

Native Affairs reporter Jodi Ihaka has reached Tokomaru Bay on her journey through Te Ikaroa-Rāwhiti.

She asks the candidates where they stand on raising the Super so our kaumātua won’t need to keep working at age 72.

The second lot of results from the Māori Television Reid Research Polls are revealed.  Voters in the Ikaroa-Rāwhiti electorate were asked what issues were most important to them in this election.

1.  Education 95%

2.  Family Violence 94%

3.  Child Poverty 93%

4.  Cost of Living 92%

5.  Te Reo Māori 90%
